At the end of the final round of the competition, Ashburton College were on top both as a team, and in the individual standings, with one of their members – Shania Harrison-Lee – the competition’s top shooter with 493.33 and Emma Smith second on 493.24.

Harrison-Lee went into the competition as the defending champion and she retained her Triple S crown.

After losing the lead in round two, Harrison-Lee only dropped one more point to clinch the Triple S title.

It was a closely fought battle, with Smith in second only one point behind.

Ashburton College claimed the team title for the fifth year running.

Harrison-Lee also won the Master Grade One title, while Smith won the A grade one title.

The D Grade 1 title was won by Charlotte McKenzie from Ashburton College with a score of 477.19, while in third place was Amelia Swan from Mount Hutt College with a score of 472.07.

The next big schools’ competition – the Target Shooting NZ Secondary Schools’ Championships, will be held in Wellington on September 28 and 29.
