Red House was a convincing winner of Ashburton College’s annual house competition this year.
Red finished almost 30 points ahead of Blue, who were pipped at the post last year.
Red House teacher leader Sarah Lassen said it had been a real team effort this year though house members consistently excelled in the house sport competition.
“The start of the year, with athletics and swimming, left us in third position but once team sports were introduced we took the lead convincingly. Our most valuable wins were in touch, basketball and volleyball.”
She said the Red House executive (above), led by captain Emma McDowell, focused on participation and increasing involvement, which paid off in the points gained in The Festival of the Spoken Word and Lip Sync.
